Solid Fill For Walls

Instantly apply solid fill to your walls with a simple on/off switch in your program settings. Choose the color you would like to use for each wall type. Disable solid fill or override the color for individual walls if needed.

Building

Draw Walls from Offset Baseline

Achieve precise wall layout dimensions from the start by offsetting walls from a defined baseline. Using the Insert by External Boundary option you can offset your walls from the outer face of the veneer, the outer face of the wall core or stud, or the inner face of the wall. Define the offset distance and direction for an accurate result.

Wall Offset From Inside Wall Edge

When drawing an interior wall, the on-screen dimensions now measure from the inside edge of the perimeter walls to the inside edge of the wall being drawn.

Corner Details

Create an elegant, finished look for your walls by instantly adding boards or quoins to corners. Control properties such as base height, total height, offset, and number of courses to achieve the exact result you want. Just click on a wall to apply.

Shutters

Use the Shutters tool to instantly apply shutters to one or both sides of a window. Choose a flat, paneled, or board-and-batten style, or create your own style.

Niches

Add architectural flare to a wall by creating a recessed opening in it. Choose a size and shape, define the niche depth, and apply a custom material to the niche’s interior face and backside.

For precise design control, new wall opening insertion options in the program settings let you choose whether you want to insert openings to the edge or the center of the opening.

Louvered Window Lites

Louvered windows are now an option for highlites, lowlites and sidelites on doors and windows.

Window Opening Symbol Control

Choose between two different methods of displaying opening symbols on swing-type windows, or turn symbols off altogether.

Trim Control for Openings

Disable trim around individual wall openings by editing the opening’s properties. Flexible design control where you need it.

Custom Profiles

Design completely unique profiles for members and columns to add a personal touch to your project. Use simple lines and arcs to draw the outline of the profile, then save it in the profiles library for use in any project. Use custom profiles anywhere members or columns are used.

Rotate Member Profiles

Edit a member’s Profile Rotation setting to rotate the member about its insertion baseline, ensuring the member is represented correctly in your drawing.

Get precise control of roof, floor, ceiling and surface framing. Use the Convert Framing to Members tool to instantly convert framing into actual members that can be selected, edited, and quantified in member schedules.

Create a rafter/column framing system such as a shed or porch structure quickly and easily. Insert a series of portal frames in a few mouse clicks. You can define the type of materials you would like to use for your portal frames, the frame dimensions, and the spacing between frames.

Wall framing members are now displayed with their inherent profiles applied, creating a more realistic presentation of the model's construction.

Room Region Calculator

View automatic area, perimeter and volume calculations for individual rooms or areas in your design. Insert a note containing a room title or mark and all or selected space calculations. Apply a pattern and color to the room region object if desired, and select a line style for the object’s boundary. Subtract room regions such as the Garage when calculating the square footage of your design in the Area/Perimeter Calculator.

Room Region Schedule

Examine space usage in your design by generating an automatic schedule of room region calculations. Customize the layout, content and appearance of the schedule to suit your needs.

Site Boundary Unit Selection

New site boundary program settings let you select a unit of measure to use for site boundary distance measurements. Choose either Inches, Feet-Inches, Meters, Centimeters or Millimeters.

Nudge

Select an object and nudge it using the arrow keys on your keyboard for precise editing control.

Lengthen Lines

The Lengthen tool is now available for Line objects for enhanced editing control.

Viewing and Selection

Maintain Current Location Per View

A new program setting lets you choose whether you want to maintain the same current location as you switch from one view window to another, or select a different current location per view. This is a great feature when organizing floors in multiple views.

Point-And-Click View Filters

Use the Pick Items to Hide tool to quickly pick objects in your drawing that you want to hide. On the flip side, select Hide All Items Except to pick an object in your drawing and instantly hide everything except what you picked.

Point-And-Click Selection Filters

New point-and-pick selection filters let you pick objects in your drawing to make non-selectable, or make everything non-selectable except a selected object — great when singling out items for selection.

Lock Framing in View Filter

For enhanced view control, use the View Filter’s new Lock Framing option to lock the visibility of wall, roof, floor and ceiling framing in its current state regardless of any element filtering you do.

Scroll Wheel Zooming Improvement

A popular client request! When zooming in and out by rolling your mouse’s scroll wheel, the position of your mouse pointer now determines the center of zoom.
